" Lotsa answers to this one. One thing I believe in is eating seasonally. In the US, I/you/we don't need grapes from Chile nor clementines from Israel just because "we can". Then, take the energy expended shipping those items to here and use to distribute less exotic (read "less profitable"...) but needed foodstuffs elsewhere.
You might have to go without your out-of-season asparagus for New Years Day, but that's the way it goes. Just MHO. "

It is not about need, we do not need 90 % of the things we have and do, but we have the freedom and the financial means to have and do them.

This moron happens to be a musician, so I say - - - we don't need music, let's take all the energy used to play music, make instruments, travel to musical events, and take all the money from the entire music industry and use it to transport food to poor people of the world - - - -

This idiot must be a communist at heart because he fails to understand the basics of capitalism. Things are available here for us to purchase (out of season !) because we have the mans and desire to pay for them.

There is no such thing as a free lunch - - - somebody pays.

If nobody pays, there is no lunch.

In many of the poorest countries there is plenty of donated food that arrives there, but the local government steals the food and sells it to those who can afford it, the poor who it was intended for mean nothing to those government leaders.

The solution to the world hunger problem is to spread democracy, not socialism. It is socialism that has led to these despotic regimes in the first place.

Bone headed do-gooderism helps keep these despots in power by donating food that these tyrants can then sell to buy the means to stay in power.

Stopping me from having my Chilean grapes or Israeli Clementines will do nothing to help the hungry and it may in fact be taking the very food out of the mouths of poor farmers who raise and sell them - - -

Capitalism is liberating and inspires growth and prosperity, socialism stunts initiative destroys growth, creates equal poverty and has failed everwhere it has been tried.

Why moronic liberals cannot see this is one of the great mysteries of the world - - -
