So we have gays serving openly in the military - - - and the problems have just begun - - -

This short sighted decision, opposed by over a thousand General officers  (  http://www.flagandgeneralofficersforthemilitary.com/  ) , is going to have many unpleasant consequences.

First and foremost, spouses of military people get essentially free health care for life. Is this going to be extended to "partners".  Since gay couples are known for changing partners (no children to hold them together) will every partner get free health care for life ?  What about G.I. life insurance ?

What about housing ?  will gay members be permitted to occupy family housing ?  Living in the barracks sucks in my experience.  Why couldn't two same sex members who hate the barracks form a "partnership" just to get better housing?

What evidence will be required to form a partnership ?  Gay marriage is not legal in most states !

How do you house gay members in the barracks ? Will gay roommates be permitted ?  How is that fair to heterosexual couples - - - will they be allowed to "shack up" as well.

Will the military become one giant "shack job"  site ?

How will this square with the high moral behavior that is expected from military members ?

More questions than answers - - - typical Obama screw up !

" More than 1,050 high-ranking retired Flag and General Officers for the Military have personally signed a statement expressing great concern that repeal of the law would
undermine unit cohesion, discipline, and combat effectiveness:
“We believe that imposing this burden on our men and women in uniform would undermine recruiting and retention, impact leadership at all levels, have adverse effects on the
willingness of parents who lend their sons and daughters to military service, and eventually
break the All-Volunteer Force.”

Forcing a controversial social agenda on our military would add to the stress of war and disrupt
training, operations, and unit cohesiveness.  These consequences deserve serious consideration
by members of Congress: "
